SATcap is a self-adhesive trim cap engineered using 3M’s VHB tape and GemTrim™ Flex Trim Cap. Our product was developed in collaboration with experts at 3M to modify the current adhesive method for applying trim cap to channel letters. SATcap has a number of benefits over traditional application methods including increased overall production output, increased quality of the product, and reduced operator fatigue.
When using SATcap, application time is reduced by 50% compared to traditional glue adhesives. When manufacturing channel letters with SATcap, the letter face can be attached to the can as soon as the trim cap is applied, unlike glue adhesives that require time to cure. In addition, SATcap can be used to replace trim cap in the field, saving on both time and material costs.
Unlike traditional glue adhesives, SATcap does not become brittle. This means there is a reduced chance of the bond breaking when the face is placed on the can, or when the letters are being installed.
